IBM's Distributed Computing Services (Seat Management Services) offering incorporates all of the components required to deliver services in support of the State of North Carolina's computing environment. Our solution is designed to be flexible, while maintaining cost effectiveness.
IBM has successfully implemented similar services for customers both domestically and globally. Based on input from and experience with our customers, we have defined 31 distinct elements that are required for managing distributed systems environments. For definition purposes, we group the elements into four broad categories: Deployment, User Support, Network Services, and Management as depicted in the chart below.
Clients engage with IBM for all of the 31 elements, or a subset of them, depending on their distributed systems management strategy and requirements. Furthermore, service levels as well as location and types of service support usually differ depending on specific customer needs.
